Five Years of Deep Cultivation, Embarking on a New Chapter in Emergency Response. The 6th Yangtze River Delta International Emergency Disaster Reduction and Rescue Expo (EDRR 2027), jointly organized by the emergency management departments of Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui, together with the Shanghai Council for the Promotion of International Trade, has officially launched its full-scale booth registration campaign. Under the theme "Secure Resilience, Smarter Tomorrow," the expo is scheduled to take place from May 12 to 14, 2027 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai).
The expo will feature ten exhibition sectors, covering the entire spectrum of the emergency industry chain: emergency prevention and safety monitoring, emergency command and communications, comprehensive rescue equipment, safety protection and personal protective equipment, emergency medical and life support, emergency transport and specialized equipment, post-disaster recovery and infrastructure, emergency supplies and logistics support, emergency services and solutions, and public safety and science education.
Running concurrently with Intersec Shanghai — International Security Expo and Seasafety — Public Service Vessel & Water Safety Expo, the three events will achieve resource sharing and complementary industry synergies. The expo will deliver a comprehensive upgrade in both exhibition content and immersive real-scenario experiences, showcasing globally leading cutting-edge technologies and products across the full spectrum of emergency response, once again setting a new benchmark for the development of the emergency industry.
EDRR delivered an impressive performance in 2026: the exhibition area reached 60,000 square meters, with over 500 domestic and international enterprises participating. Professional visitors totaled 80,202, a year-on-year increase of 29.13%, with a significant surge in professional buyers from 44 countries and regions. Total media exposure across all online and offline platforms exceeded 2.6 billion, with over 200 media outlets including CCTV and Xinhuanet providing comprehensive coverage throughout the event. Cutting-edge equipment such as humanoid robots, full-domain early warning systems, and aerospace rescue technologies became industry focal points.
Currently, China's emergency industry is entering a critical phase of high-quality transformation, with digital, unmanned, and intelligent technologies deeply integrated into the full chain of disaster prevention and mitigation, emergency rescue, and urban safety governance. Aligned with top-level national strategies including the "15th Five-Year Plan" for modern emergency system development and the Humanoid Robot Special Action, local governments are comprehensively implementing "AI + Emergency" innovation initiatives, accelerating the deployment of intelligent equipment in scenarios such as mine inspections, hazardous chemical response, flood control and drainage, fire scene reconnaissance, and urban lifeline monitoring. Market demand for quadruped robots, full-domain monitoring and early warning systems, aerospace emergency command platforms, and intelligent individual protective equipment continues to rise steadily, fully reflecting the nation's long-term strategic commitment to proactive prevention, resilient safety, and preventive governance models.
Leveraging the brand-new "1+1+1+X" overall framework, EDRR 2027 will deliver comprehensive quality upgrades across five key dimensions: exhibition capacity, segmented tracks, targeted buyer invitations, full-matrix media promotion, and high-end supporting forums, bringing clear and tangible market opportunities for participating enterprises.
EDRR 2027 continues the highly precise invitation system of previous editions, leveraging a database of over 2 million high-quality professional visitors and employing big data-driven stratified targeting to invite core professional attendees including brand owners/manufacturers, government/emergency management authorities, distributors/agents, industry service providers, industry associations/research institutions, and import/export/trading companies. Concurrently, four core procurement sessions will be established: Southeast Asia & Middle East International Procurement Session, Chemical Park & Industrial Safety Procurement Session, Urban Investment & Construction and City Safety Procurement Session, and Grassroots Emergency Equipment Procurement Session, providing exhibitors with full-process business services encompassing pre-show client acquisition, efficient on-site meetings, and sustained post-show conversion. On the domestic procurement front, the expo collaborates with emergency management authorities from the Yangtze River Delta and other provinces and cities nationwide, as well as industrial parks and safety groups, to organize targeted official visiting delegations. On the international front, it deepens cooperation with consulates and overseas business associations, with a strategic focus on the Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern markets to facilitate the global expansion of domestically produced complete emergency equipment solutions.
Concurrent Events — The expo will feature a diverse array of supporting activities including the Global City Safety and Emergency International Symposium, Professional Buyer Matchmaking Sessions, and Rescue Innovation Challenge Competitions. The City Safety and Emergency series of forums will conduct in-depth discussions on core topics such as disaster warning and assessment, comprehensive emergency command and dispatch, deployment of unmanned intelligent systems, and mega-city resilience building. The Buyer Matchmaking Sessions will offer one-on-one pre-matched meetings focused on specialized topics including chemical industrial safety, urban resilience construction, grassroots emergency equipment, and domestic tech-innovation enterprises. The Emergency Skills Real-Scenario Exchange Activity will feature a dedicated intelligent robot interactive training zone, opening hands-on operational space for fire and professional rescue teams from across the country. New technology roadshows, enterprise innovation debut launches, and immersive public disaster prevention science education activities will be presented in rotation, delivering a comprehensive release of the expo's industrial value and social science popularization value.
EDRR 2027 will disrupt the traditional exhibition communication paradigm by building a brand-new ecosystem of "global media resonance + digital exhibition twin." A major global online showroom will be launched, creating a 365-day never-ending digital exhibition hall. All exhibited products will feature cloud-based 3D display and instant inquiry capabilities, ensuring that buyers around the world can complete product selection and matchmaking "screen-to-screen" regardless of their location, truly achieving the dual-track spillover effect of "in-depth offline experience, global online reach."
From five years of deep cultivation to a comprehensive new upgrade, EDRR 2027 is rooted in the Yangtze River Delta, serves the nation, and opens to the world. With exhibition as its vehicle, industry as its core, and technology as its engine, it builds a higher-level exchange and cooperation platform for the safety and emergency industry. From May 12 to 14, 2027, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), we sincerely invite emergency industry professionals from home and abroad to gather in Shanghai and explore new opportunities in resilient city development, smart emergency response, and unmanned equipment advancement. Together, we will harness the collective strength of the industry to safeguard high-level safety and foster a virtuous cycle of mutual reinforcement between safety and high-quality development!
